I love writing. But when it comes to writing about myself, my hands get clammy and the writer’s block kicks in! I’m not great at selling myself but I’m going to give it a go, so bear with me…
My name's Jo and I live in Sussex with my husband and two daughters. I love travelling to new places and eating out at different restaurants. I'm a journalist by trade as well as an Arsenal fan. If that hasn't put you off, please read on...
From an early age, I’ve had a passion for writing – whether that be penning a short story at primary school or making up celebrity gossip for a magazine column on my Media Studies A Level course.
I’d always wanted to be an actress, but when people started complimenting me on my writing, I was a typical big-eyed, impressionable teenager and took what they said literally. I then decided that writing was my calling.
I studied Journalism at the University of Lincoln and knew I wanted to continue it as a career when I graduated, ideally in magazine journalism. Me and everyone else on the planet…it took heaps of perseverance and a bucketful of rejection to get my foot in the door. My big break came when I was offered a job as a reporter on a health and safety magazine. Oh, the glamour!
I have over 15 years’ experience of writing content – from interviews with key stakeholders in the health and safety industry, to product descriptions for an adult toy website, and everything in between.
I pride myself on my attention to detail. I’m not saying I’m perfect but I’m certainly a perfectionist!
